About Death Note

Death Note is a Japanese manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2003 to 2006. The story follows Light Yagami, a brilliant high school student who discovers a supernatural notebook dropped into the human world by the shinigami Ryuk. Anyone whose name is written in the Death Note dies, and Light decides to use this power to rid the world of criminals and become the god of a new world order under the alias "Kira." Standing in his way is L, the world's greatest detective, igniting one of the most celebrated cat-and-mouse battles of wits in manga history.
